‘The Winter Of Mixed Drinks’
Just after their tour of Australia this Jan/Feb 2010 - including stop offs at St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival and shows with Echo & The Bunnymen - Scotland's Frightened Rabbit will release their highly-anticipated new album, 'The Winter Of Mixed Drinks', this 6th March.
Expertly produced by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol, Spoon), the new album follows the slow-burn classic, 'The Midnight Organ Fight', which emerged as a critical favourite in 2008 and made numerous "best of" lists including Pitchfork, NME, Magnet, Drowned In Sound and Australia's own Music Network to name a few! The band have also been publicly lauded by fellow musicians, including Craig Finn (The Hold Steady), Nick Harmer (Death Cab For Cutie) and Simon Neil (Biffy Clyro).
A visceral and heartbreaking pop oeuvre, 'The Winter Of Mixed Drinks' showcases a more fully realised Frightened Rabbit sound than ever before, and boasts stunning string arrangements from Fatcat Records' Hauschka. The album is led by the warm, rippling lead single, "Swim Until You Can't See Land".
